A ten roomed Göreme ecological hotel situated in a historic cave house overlooking Pigeon Valley. the hotel has a terrace with panoramic views of the Cappadocia’s wonderful ‘fairy chimneys’.
As well as a beautiful exterior, the rooms are decorated with Turkish rugs and furnishings and antiques. Some rooms have a living area with a fireplace and some feature a spa bath with a private terrace.

The Villa Hamster, Nantes, France
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a hamster? Well wonder no more and head down to Nantes, France for the full experience. The accommodation has all basic amenities needed for a rodent including containers of organic grain, a water spigot activating by pushing a foot lever, and a bed that you must crawl to accessible by a step ladder. The bathroom contains a giant vat of wood chips, a giant troth for a sink and a human-sized hamster wheel in the living area. Guests are given hamster masks to wear during their stay should they wish to.

Katajanokka Prison Hotel, Helsinki, Finland
A former prison dating back to 1837 is located on Katajanokka Island in central Helsinki and is just 1.4 km from Helsinki Cathedral. Visitors can book packages where they can be in the ‘segregation’ cell, that has not been updated since the prison closure in 2002. Other themed packages include a ball and chain, prison clothes and ‘guilty’ stickers.

The Dog Bark Park Inn, Idaho, USA
Designed and built by dog-mad Dennis J Sullivan and Frances Conklin, the Dog Bark Park Inn is officially the World’s Biggest Beagle even though there are only two room available for lodging. Many breeds of dog carvings are prominently featured inside and outside the building.

Capsulevalue Kanda, Tokyo, Japan
For male guests only, the Capsulevalue Kanda hotel was built with the intention of offering local businessmen a place to sleep if they are finishing work late or miss the last transportation out of the city. Guests are allocated a ‘capsule’ the size of a single bed and they are provided with robes, slippers and various toiletries included in the nightly rate.

Panda Inn, China
China’s 32 room hotel which is completely pasted with panda memorabilia is said to be the world’s first panda-themed hotel. Located at the foot of the Emei Mountain in China’s Sichuan Province, the hotel is conveniently located for the Chengdu Research Base which is home to the most captive-born giant pandas in the world. The Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries are just over 100 miles away from the hotel making it the perfect place to stay in the world for panda loving explorers.

Äscher Cliff, Switzerland
At 5 km above sea level, the Äscher Cliff hotel and restaurant is nestled in the side of a mountain in the Alpstein area of the Swiss Alps. The building clings on to a vertical cliff about 100 meters high and a cable car is available to take visitors back down to the valley below.

Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya
Modeled on a Scottish hunting lodge, the Giraffe Manor is a small hotel in the Karen suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. It serves as a home to a number of endangered Rothschild giraffes. The Manor has six bedrooms and guests are invited to feed the giraffes from the breakfast table, through the front door and out of their bedroom windows.
