Alba Guesthouse Reykjavik was the first accommodation we stayed at on our first year long round the world trip. From the outside, it looks like a dismal huge grey house but the inside is where the magic happens.
It feels like home as soon as you walk in. The central heating was blaring (in the height of a freezing cold Icelandic winter) and the owner took our coats and hung them up for us, making us feel at home.
If you are looking at where to stay in Reykjavik, stay at Alba Guesthouse. We loved it that much, that we came back after a sneaky few days in Greenland to stay another night.
