Dubai is the prettiest city, where you can find a desert just twenty kilometers away from a super-modern shopping center. And this is only a small part of the amazing.

Dubai, once a desert, has now become a place that attracts many tourists all year round. When one finds oneself for the first time in such an extraordinary city, in which all the old Eastern traditions and progressive modern technology come together in a single whole, cognitive dissonance occurs in one’s mind.

Knowledge to help you on your journey to Dubai

To save you a lot of time, money and trouble, we’ve decided to put together a couple of tips that you MUST know when you first visit Dubai.

Transport

Decide right away how you’re going to get around the city. There are many different forms of public transport, but if you’re going on a trip to the fairytale city, make your dreams come true!

You can rent a Ferrari in Dubai. The car hire organization will help you choose the right model, advise you on the price and make sure you’re comfortable when you travel by rental car.

Alcohol

Drinking and being drunk in public places is an offence in Dubai, so you’re advised not to walk around with a bottle in your hand. If you want to unwind a bit, there are plenty of places to go in the evening.

There are bars and restaurants offering alcohol, it is strongly discouraged outdoors and in public.

Ramadan

Don’t chew gum during Ramadan. Everyone knows that the UAE is a Muslim country. Every year there is the month of Ramadan, which obliges Muslims to fast.

There is a law in the UAE, including Dubai, which prohibits both residents and tourists from breaking the fast in public. It is forbidden to smoke, chew gum, eat, drink or even swallow saliva in public places.

It can lead to an arrest of up to 1 month or a fine of up to AED 1,000.

Kissing in Dubai

If you’re going to Dubai with your significant other, the act of kissing and hugging the belly area is forbidden. You can walk hand in hand, but no more than that.

By breaching these laws, you may first get a warning and then be taken to the police station.

Attractions

Be sure to walk around the main attractions in Dubai and don’t forget to bring your camera. There really is a wealth of things to capture on camera in this city: the tallest building in the world, the world’s largest shopping mall, the desert in the middle of the city and old oriental traditions in architecture.

Photographs

In Dubai, it is advised not take photos of everything and everyone. If you catch someone in the lens of your camera who does not want to be photographed, you could get into serious trouble.

Such filming is a criminal offence and can result in a fine of up to AED 500,000.

Beaches

“Why go on holiday without visiting the beach?” – some might say, but only those who have been to Dubai really understand the value of the phrase. The sand in Dubai is indeed as white as sugar and the water allows you to look down to the very bottom of the ocean bed.

Along the length of the beach, you’ll find the best hotels for tourists and gourmet restaurants.
