Don’t Let Money Hold Your Travel Dreams Back
Do you have travel dreams and a bucket list of places that you want to see before you die? Money doesn’t have to stop you and we’re here to tell you how money doesn’t have to be an obstacle, you CAN go out there and make your travel dreams come true.
The first thing that you’ve probably thought, is because there’s not enough money going around. You can’t live your travelling dreams, because your whole life that you know would come crashing down, right? Well, that’s sort of what could happen, if you were to jump up and pack everything, and just float around the world, no telling where you will end up next. But money should never hold your travel dreams back, like it probably has been doing up until now. Money should be the one thing that drives you towards travelling, not all of this mega saving business that everyone seems to be on at the minute. You’re really only young once, and travelling whilst you’re young is one of the best things you can do. It truly opens your eyes up to the world, and shows you what’s going on that you might not have heard of before. It’s all well and good looking at Instagram posts of all of these people travelling, and getting a feeling like you know the place they’re at. But there’s truly nothing better than getting out there and enjoying the world. So, here’s how we think you can stop letting money problems hold you back, and how you can truly explore the world.
Get Free Accommodation and Free Food
Did you know that you can travel the world for almost free? You can volunteer some of your time at a hostel, hotel or local community project and in exchange you can receive free accommodation, free food and sometimes even some extra cash!

Get Into Discount Mode
Discount mode is something you definitely want to get yourself into. If you’re going on holiday, you’ll usually go for the one that catches your eye the most, but the one that catches your eye the most, isn’t always going to be the cheapest. But there are ways of knocking down the price of certain holidays, you just have to look in the right places. For example, if you check out websites such as NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, you could easily find discount codes that could help you towards your holiday. So don’t always go for the first thing that you see, and don’t always think that the price you see is the only price that you’re going to get.
There’s always a better option out there, you just have to spend the time to find one! Think about going outside of your normal parameters as well. Some of you will always go for an all inclusive, or a 4* or more, or have other things that you hotel HAS to have, before you will even consider going there. You might find cheaper options if you actually go for the cheaper options. As long as you’re checking out the reviews to make sure it’s not a total dive, a 3* can sometimes be just as good as a 4*!
Book Smarter
Looking and booking are nearly the same thing. Expect for the fact that you’ll probably spend weeks looking for your holiday, and minutes booking it. But it’s the booking process where so much money, and time and effort further down the line, can be saved. So the first tip we have for you, is to consider booking the hotel and the flights separate. You’ll usually find that tour operators charge such a large amount to organise the trip for you, whereas if you were to book everything separately, you’ll just be paying for the base price of what the company needs to make through flights and then the hotel, not a big bundle with lots of money added on. You also need to think about the time of year that you’re booking it for, if you can afford to do so.
It’s not secret that there are certain times of the year that are going to be more expensive than others, but we know that sometimes you just can’t help the time of year you have to have off, especially if you work with kids, or have kids of your own. So if this is the case, you’re going to have to think about booking well in advance. Summer holidays for next year are out at the minute, so although it might be a while away, why not start booking that now, and then look for last minute deals for this year!
Travel Smarter
The main cost of the holiday is usually the price of actually booking it. But so many people get to the destination of their desires, and then end up spending a fortune on everything. So even though it might not be nice to budget for a holiday, this is something you most definitely have to do. So to travel smarter, plan everything before you go. If you know there are some things you want to do when you get there, see if there’s anything you can book through TripAdvisor, or the attractions website itself. You’ll usually save so much money doing it this way!
Go and live your travel dreams, start ticking off your bucket list and enjoy every second!
